5XI 3 – 1 6XI
Clash of the Dragons at Lockwood Park saw the two competing teams battling it out for Yorkshire league position with the 5ths asserting a lot of pressure early in the game. Finally this resulted in Martin Laithwaite hitting the top right hand corner with an excellent shot putting the 5ths ahead.
The 6ths applied pressure towards the end of the half and equalized at the start of the 2nd half with Foo burying a short corner against the backboard. Tension then built but the 5ths applied pressure again and with about 10 minutes to go found two more goals through Gary Clarke finishing the game comfortable winners 3-1.
A good team performance with a debut in goal for Jim Harris (and when called upon he made some very important saves) and once again impressive performances down the right by Ashley Cooke and Justin Whittle, their pace at times proving too much.
