HDHC 7 – 1 Colne Valley
An outstanding team performance by the Dragons who played the majority of the game with only nine players. Even starting with only ten players, the Dragons looked solid from the start and dealt with any Valley attacks calmly and proficiently. Dragons opened the scoring with Green putting away a trademark reverse stick shot, soon to be followed by Tootell and then Middleton, Fielding joined the team and soon added her name to the score sheet with a determined shot on goal which found the back of the net.
Bagshaw took at hit to the hand resulting in a broken finger and five minutes later Fielding took a ball on the knee which saw her follow Bagshaw. The half time whistle was blown and dragons took the time to regroup. Valley came out strongly and found themselves a consolation goal before the Dragons pulled themselves together for what turned out to be probably one of the best team performances of the season so far. Hargreaves and Walters added to the score sheet and Green put away her second. Dunne and DiNapoli provided solid defence and created many of the opportunities for the forwards to put away.
Huddersfield now sit in third place in Yorkshire Division 1 with a crunch match next week against second place Bradford and Bingley which will decide who goes into the Christmas break in the promotion spot.
