Halifax 1 – 2 HDHC
The dragons began the local derby against halifax full of confidence from several victories over the last few games. Huddersfield defended very well during the first half, stopping Halifax in their tracks as they pressed for an early goal. In a fairly even first half with chances at both ends it was Huddersfield who scored first, against the run of play with a precise strike from Cooke. Halifax equalized towards the end of the first half through a superb reverse-stick effort. The dragons began the second period with some half chances and continued to defend well. The game was end-to-end until the final minute when Johnny Lees slotted in a last gasp winner which gave Huddersfield a well earned three points.
