Sheffield Hallam 0 – 4 HDHC
Huddersfield travelled to Sheffield knowing that their opponent’s current league position was somewhat false. Sheffield having lost their first three games of the season have gone on and won the next six.
The dragons started quickly, taking advance of the portly Hallam defence with some nicely crafted aerial balls. Deadlock was broken when Clark found Elson unmarked, Elson making no mistake in beating the goalkeeper from five yards. Sheffield showed glimpses of their goal threat but this was effectively dealt with by the Huddersfield defence; currently the best in Yorkshire division two.
It was Huddersfield’s Craig Foster that soon became the difference between the two teams. His first a bullet strike that left the goalkeeper thankful that he didn’t get anywhere near it. Foster completed his hat trick and claimed man of the match ten minutes from time when he was on hand to collect a rebound from Richardson’s original shot.
Four victories on the bounce leaves Huddersfield level on points with York at the top of the division. With Christmas coming quickly the Dragons are hoping that Santa will bring them another three points when they face Rotherham at home next weekend.
Man of match – Craig Foster
Fool of day – Oli Clark
Goal(s) – Elson, Foster(3)
