HDHC 2 – 2 LA Carnegie
The Huddersfield Dragons ladies’ 1st team must be starting to feel haunted by the end score line of a 2-2 draw, however this week it was the home team fighting back from a 2-1 defecit.
Play was strong in the first half with the Dragons making use of some of the techniques they’ve been looking at in training, passing effectively round the back, avoiding contact and generally looking like they wanted to win. An early goal came for the home side courtesy of an excellent short corner straight strike by Kelly Fillingham but it wasn’t too long before LA Carnegie equalised with similar, leaving it 1-1 at half time.
The Dragons came out strong in the second half but another dubiously given short corner gave the visitor’s a 2-1 lead. Some lovely linking play from the Dragons led to Amanda Sowerby getting the opportunity to take a fairly unbelievable shot that found the backboard, levelling the scores.
Despite dogged effort the scoreline didn’t budge and the Dragons left the pitch once again at 2-2, at least though with another point in their pockets.
