HDHC 3 – 1 Wakefield

Despite torrential rain and a slowly flooding pitch Huddersfield’s 6th team were in a determined mood and dominated first half play .

After several short corners Foo put a sweetly taken flick past the Wakefield keeper. Huddersfield’s midfield of Burnip, Burnip, Foo and Lees continued to control play leading to frustration in the physical Wakefield defence and a yellow card for the Wakefield Centre Back.

With Wakefield down to 10 Huddersfield were camped in the Wakefield half of the pitch and Fitzpatrick made the score 2-0 with a delightful shot into the roof of the net. The second half saw more of the same with a superb goal from a narrow angle by young Center Forward Cook after Wakefield had scored a breakaway goal at the other end.
