Slazengers 0 – 4 HDHC
Huddersfield controlled the first half, and should have taken the lead after the midfield provided a variety of chances, but none were converted, however Slazengers failed to create any decent opportunities in a rather dull first half.
The second half started with Huddersfield’s fast paced attack cleanly finished by Justin Whittle, who deserved his goal after some wonderful play down the right all game. Slazengers came back at Huddersfield strong with a host of chances, but were denied goals due to saves from the keeper. But Huddersfield provided a response, as Conrad Dales saw his first time strike crash into the net, giving Huddersfield the confidence they needed to go on and dominate the game. Mike Pogson controlled Huddersfield’s attacks with some perfectly weighted passes for the Huddersfield frontline, but he was the next scorer after he was picked out unmarked at the top of the ‘D’, and delivered a firm shot into the goal. And Huddersfield sealed a much deserved win after a short corner shot was deflected into the roof of the net, from the penalty spot by Josh Dwyer.
Huddersfield produced an impressive display and take on fellow high flyers Halifax 3 next week.
