HDHC 2 – 1 Colne Valley

Dragons created numerous goal opportunities from strong passes across the D and short corners but failed to convert into goals due to Colne Valley’s strong defence. The first goal, from Bland, came 20 minutes into the first half when Dunne made a strong pass up the wing received by Thomas who crossed it into the D and Bland put the ball straight into the net.

The second half saw Dragons perform some excellent passing and strong attacks on goal but the final finish eluded the team. The second goal came from a battle in the D between Dragons forwards and Valley’s defence with Bland finally placing the ball past the keeper. It was 10 minutes to the final whistle when Colne Valley were awarded a free hit outside the D which they quickly dribbled into the D and a powerful strike at goal made the final score 2-1. Man of the Match went to Bland who positioned herself well throughout the game resulting in her scoring both of this week’s goals.

Yet again a fine team performance and another encouraging result in the ladies 3’s quest for promotion.
