Ladies 1XI (A) Bolton 10/10/2009

Bolton 5 – 0 HDHC

The score line read 5-0 to Bolton this week in what was another unlucky day for Huddersfield Dragons Ladies’ first team. The team, playing away, didn’t quite find their feet in time which led to a scrappy first Bolton goal and another from a break that caught the defense on the back foot.

A charged team talk at half time saw the Dragons come out in the second half looking like they had a lot more to give, and Kelly Fillingham’s distribution in the midfield and Michelle Dexter’s intelligent running up front led to several attempts on goal. However, the ball never found the back of the net. Bolton packed out the D for a third goal and hit the net again with an impressively angled strike from the back line to make it 3 then 4-0.

Despite the Dragons best efforts, the opposition ran away with the game and scored again in the final minutes. A disappointing day for the Dragons who will certainly be looking to hit back with a win next weekend.

Man of the match went to Rebecca Durrans for her tireless work in the midfield.
