Mens 4XI (A) Harrogate 03/10/2009

Harrogate 3 – 0 HDHC

A frustrating away game for the Dragons resulted in their first loss of the fledgling season. After a 30 minute delay to the start of the game Harrogate looked to immediately press from the start and put the young Dragons side under pressure, however it took a mistake from captain Flavin gift-wrapping a ‘16’ clearance to the opposition centre forward for the home side to get on the score sheet despite an excellent initial save by goalkeeper Baillie.

Just before the break the Dragons started to string some passing together and get their first attempt at the home sides goal.

The second half was a more even affair but the more experienced Harrogate side was able to capitalise on the Dragons lack of shape at times and scored two decidedly lucky goals (including one that took three ricochets before it went in) to put the game beyond reach.

The Dragons were unlucky to leave without a consolation goal, the best effort coming from Man of the Match Luke Kelly forcing a fine save from a narrow angle missile strike.
