HDHC 3 – 3 Bingley Bees
A disappointing result for the Dragons who dominated for much of the game and were unlucky not to come away with a win. Dragons started strongly with Liz Green capitalising on a well worked short corner. Dragons connected well through midfield but the opposition broke and worked the ball around a strong Huddersfield defence to equal the scores. Excellent work in midfield by Rebecca Hargreaves-Brown led to a cross into the ‘D’ from Sarah Walters which Green put in the back of the net to take the home side into the break with the upper hand. Bingley came out fighting in the second half but dragons held them well but again the away side equalised by working the ball around the dragons defence.
Dragons were full of fire and determined to take the points and Michelle Dexter seized the opportunity with a well struck shot from the top of the D which hit the roof of the net. Dragons composed themselves and played solid hockey but the away side never gave up and put the ball away in the final seconds of the game to leave the scores level. A frustrating game for the home side but the dragons certainly showed they are full of fire!
