Huddersfield Dragons Hockey Club has it’s first injury ever. Dave Mills aka sicknote will be remembered in the clubs history from this day on.
On Thursday 23rd July 2009 during a men’s summer league game at Wakefield, Dave was poaching at the back post, all he needed to do was tap the ball home instead he decided to tear, actually no, snap his patella tendon.
It seems that Dave will now miss the start of the new season and will have to take up a coaching role instead (or maybe that’ll be the excuse he uses to get out of the house and down to the astro on a Saturday).
Although this is a serious injury that could end an athletes career ( don’t worry Dave) nobody is surprised as to which Dragon it has struck!!!
In all seriousness the club wishes Dave a quick and speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back playing soon.
